I'm a composer, when I'm not writing I paint. My painting is influenced by my interest in beat patterns created through close harmonies in music. When I started to paint the squares I asked myself how I could create the illusion these patterns or a visual effect with paint and light rather than sound. Most of my paintings have been influenced by this thinking.
